FAQS

  • Timely replies are a must prior to Tuesday 22nd October 2024. The RSVP form will close after this date and our numbers finalised.

  • Semi-formal. Dress colourful!

  • Gifts are not expected or required, please just come and celebrate with us! If you insist on honouring us with something, a wishing well will be available on the day.

  • Perth City Farm is just a few km from Perth city center, so we suggest booking accommodation in the CBD so you have easy access to public transport and other amenities. Here are a few suggestions:

Mercure Perth from $187 per night
Duxton Hotel Perth from $239 per night
QT Perth from $258 per night
Novotel Perth Murray Street from $170 per night
Mantra on Murray from $199 per night
The Westin Perth from $309 per night

  • To get there jump on a free Yellow CAT bus. They run every 10 minutes between 7:00am and 9:45pm on Saturdays and stop at Claisebrook Station, right next to Perth City Farm.

You can also catch the train from the CDB. From Perth station, jump on the Armadale line, Claisebrook Station is just two stops away. Trains run until after 2:00am, so you should be able to catch the train home again at the end of our celebration. You can either pre-purchase a Smartrider Card or a buy a cash ticket at the station.

Taxis and Ubers are also easy to catch to and from the CBD.

  • There is a City of Perth car park out the front but it gets pricey, we recommend catching public transport because it’s super easy.

  • Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate children at our wedding. However, we would love to see the little ones at our Recovery Lunch the following day.

  • Unfortunately, our budget does not extend to include plus ones. Please don’t assume a plus one unless we have communicated with you directly.

  • Our venue has a 2am curfew, so we can stay where we are and continue the celebrations. We do need to keep the noise levels down though. We’ve got you sorted with some late-night wedding snacks and will keep the drinks flowing.

HOW WE MET

We met at a New Year’s Eve house party in 2017 after Louis lost a game of beer pong to Joanne. Having both recently returned from traveling, we immediately had lots to chat about and a pretty strong common interest. Joanne thought Louis was handsome, chatty, and polite and Louis thought Joanne was funny, sincere, and strange in all the right ways. Come midnight we had a sneaky pash, and have pretty much been inseparable since.

A few of our favourite memories together are our many, many, many travels, the year we spent living in the US, moving home to Perth and in together, buying our first campervan, Louis’ Sunday cook-ups, and finally nailing the perfect paella.

THE PROPOSAL

We were about 2 weeks into a 4-week road trip along the west coast of the US when Louis couldn’t stand the pressure any longer! We were camping in Big Sur and on our second day there Louis packed a picnic and we set off to explore one of the trails. Over lunch, with the backdrop of Pfeiffer Falls and the giant redwoods Louis took his moment and pulled out a ring much to the surprise of Joanne, who said yes! It was a magic moment in a magic location.

OUR WEDDING PARTY

Introducing a few special people that will be playing a part in our day.

  • Jada was Joanne’s housemate when they lived in Canada and the two have remained super close despite now living on opposite sides of the globe. Jada is also a keen traveler, loves to rollerblade, and works as a freelance web developer. She’s traveling a long way to be a part of our day and we are hoping she realises how much she misses us and stays for good!

  • Alicia is Joanne’s much cooler and way more stylish little sister. Alicia is an incredible baker and owns a local cafe/flower shop with a viral Instagram following. She is known to be a bit of a workaholic so hopefully you find her on the day letting her hair down and enjoying the moment. We can’t wait for you to see the wedding cake she makes either!

  • Zach has been Louis’ best mate since university. They’ve traveled together, lived together, and now work together, so he’s a very comfortable third wheel in our relationship. Zach is an electrician, thinks pizza is a food group, and is a one-eyed Eagles supporter. He will no doubt be taking full advantage of the open bar on the night.

  • Sam is Louis’s younger step-brother and despite a rocky start, the two are great mates. Sam is studying architecture while working part-time as a barista and is currently training for his first marathon. He’s got a quick wit which you will get to know, oh and he wants all the girls attending to know he is single!
